Job Title: Senior Engineer – Mobile Application (Backend / BFF) Location:BurgessHill WorkMode: Hybrid ( 3 days per week in office) ContractDuration:6months(with possibility of permanent role) Experience: 8+ years \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Job Summary We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build the backend (service layer / BFF) for a Travel & Lifestyle mobile application used on iOS and Android platforms. The role involves designing, developing, and leading backend solutions while working closely with product and architecture teams. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Responsibilities • Design and build backend services for mobile applications • Develop microservices using Kotlin or Java (17+) and Spring • Write clean, high-quality, and scalable code • Set up development environments and infrastructure • Review code and guide other engineers • Monitor application performance and fix issues • Build logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions • Work with CI/CD pipelines to release code quickly and safely • Participate in and lead agile ceremonies • Mentor junior team members and support team growth \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Required Skills • 8+ years of backend / server-side development experience • Strong knowledge of Kotlin or Java 17+ • Experience with Spring Boot • Microservices and backend-for-frontend (BFF) experience • Build tools: Maven or Gradle • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, CircleCI • Monitoring & observability: Sentry, ELK, Dynatrace • Cloud and infrastructure knowledge
