MS Entra ID Engineer

MS Entra ID Engineer | Identity Engineering | Cloud Security | IaC Robert Half, an S&P 500 global staffing firm, is supporting a global risk consulting firm in sourcing an experienced MS Entra ID Engineer for a major identity and platform engineering programme. This work sits within a strategic security engineering function focused on delivering next-generation identity automation, configuration standards and secure GitOps-driven Entra ID environments. Assignment Details • Initial Duration: 3 to 6 months (with extension potential) • Location: Hybrid London (typically two days on site) • Day Rate: £650 to £750 per day via FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company Role Overview You’ll work closely with platform engineering, security engineering and cloud teams to design, implement and optimise Entra ID services across a global environment. The role requires someone with hands-on identity engineering capability, strong automation skills and a deep understanding of how to embed configuration-as-code and GitOps principles across enterprise identity workloads. You will help establish developer-friendly identity services, automate CRUD operations for apps and groups, enforce configuration standards and support security hardening for production Entra ID environments. Key Skills and Experience • Proven experience as an Entra ID Engineer or Identity Engineer within enterprise environments • Strong knowledge of Entra ID configuration, governance and identity lifecycle management • Hands-on experience with Terraform for identity configuration and automation • Proficiency in Python and PowerShell or Bash scripting • Understanding of GitOps workflows, IaC patterns and identity automation pipelines • Ability to engage with platform and security engineering teams to drive improvements • Experience implementing security hardening for identity and access management systems • Awareness of Azure cloud environments advantageous • Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills
