MS Purview Data Governance Analyst

New Exciting Opportunity MS Purview Data Governance Analyst Location: Leeds (Hybrid) Work Type: 6 Months Contract. IR35 Status: Inside IR35 Special Working Conditions: Occasional travel and/or weekend support may be required Role Description We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst (6–8 years’ experience) to take end-to-end ownership of data cataloguing and governance for data migrated from Oracle to Azure Microsoft Fabric. This role will focus on the implementation, management, and ongoing optimisation of Microsoft Purview, ensuring data across the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) is trusted, discoverable, lineage-aware, and compliant. The successful candidate will work closely with data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to embed governance into day-to-day data usage, rather than operating as a standalone compliance function. Key Skills & Experience • 6–8 years’ experience in Data Governance, Metadata Management, or Data Management roles • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including: • Data catalog • Lineage • Classification and sensitivity labelling • Business glossary • Experience supporting cloud data platforms, preferably Azure Microsoft Fabric • Good understanding of: • Data warehousing concepts • Medallion Architecture • Modern analytics ecosystems • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate governance concepts into business-friendly language • Excellent documentation and organisational skills
