Position Overview:
The Data Director is a newly created strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting across all YWAP programs. This position ensures data not only supports compliance and reporting requirements (grants, invoices, reimbursements) but also drives decision-making, illuminates the impact of our programs, and anticipates the information needs of funders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:1. Grant & Funding Data Management
Prepare and submit grant reports in alignment with funder requirements and deadlines.
Complete and track grant invoices and reimbursement submissions accurately and on schedule.
Ensure all financial and programmatic data are correctly aligned for audit-ready compliance.
1. Data Analysis & Reporting
Create and maintain monthly data dashboards and reports that provide insights into participant engagement, program outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.
Build forecast models to anticipate trends in participation, funding needs, and service demands.
Deliver data snapshots to stakeholders and team leads that highlight key metrics and performance indicators.
1. Program Evaluation
Collect and analyze participant demographic data to better understand the communities served and tailor programming accordingly.
Evaluate short-term and long-term impact of YWAP programs using qualitative and quantitative data.
Collaborate with program staff to design and implement data tools that support continuous improvement.
1. Holistic Data Systems Development
Design systems that take a holistic viewpoint of youth development—combining educational, emotional, familial, and community data.
Create automated workflows and templates to answer common stakeholder questions before they're asked, improving transparency and responsiveness.
Ensure data systems are intuitive, accessible, and usable by non-technical team members.
1. Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
Provide thought leadership on how YWAP can leverage data for storytelling, advocacy, and scaling impact.
Support organizational strategic planning with reliable data trends and insights.
Train staff on data entry, integrity, and interpretation best practices.
Qualifications:Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Public Administration, Social Work, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
3–5 years of experience in data analytics, evaluation, or program management—preferably in a nonprofit or youth-focused organization.
Demonstrated experience completing grant reports, invoices, and financial reconciliation.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data in an accessible way.
Preferred:
Experience working with under-resourced or at-risk youth populations.
Familiarity with state and federal grant reporting systems.
Knowledge of Salesforce, Apricot, or similar CRM/data management platforms.
