Role description
Job Title: Observability Project Resource
Location: 100% Remote
Responsibilities
• Enhance the Cloud Engineering practice by automating manual business and IT processes in Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, CodePipeline, SSM Automation Documents, and Config Rules.
• Design and build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate the provisioning and deployment of both large- and small-scale systems.
• Write unit and integration tests to validate infrastructure code.
• Identify engineering defects in the existing code base and continuously improve code quality.
• Actively support operational and stakeholder teams to maintain business continuity and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate configuration and support documentation.
• Manage assigned project components to deliver services aligned with established objectives.
• Design and implement automated workflows for AWS network configurations and VPC account creations.
• Support Microsoft 365 tenant domain changes, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory alignment, and migrations of Windows/Linux systems with familiarity in SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, and related tools.
• Develop PowerShell and Graph API automation scripts.
• Build automation on AWS Cloud to support observability, monitoring, and anomaly detection.
• Design and implement monitoring/alerting automation that integrates infrastructure and applications.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field required.
• 5–7 years of experience in IT systems engineering, automation, and cloud services.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Shell scripting, Windows PowerShell, Java, and .NET Framework.
• Extensive understanding of CI/CD methodologies.
• Ability to leverage a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Experience with AWS Cloud services, with the ability to quickly learn new offerings.
• Skilled in building automation for provisioning, management, and monitoring of cloud services (Infrastructure as Code).
• Hands-on experience with Windows containerization using .NET Framework.
• Experience with developing hardened baseline automation (a plus).
