About the Role
We’re seeking an Operations Data Analyst (Expert) to lead complex data analysis projects from start to finish—designing, processing, analyzing, and presenting actionable insights that support operational and strategic business objectives. This role will partner with cross-functional teams, leverage advanced analytics tools, and ensure data integrity across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead complex data analysis projects, from initial request through presentation of results, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
• Design and implement data analysis methodologies to meet business objectives.
• Develop automated routines for reporting, data cleansing, and accurate data manipulation.
• Extract and transfer data from multiple systems (e.g., SAP, Foundry, GIS, Copperleaf) to support operational analysis and asset planning.
• Create interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Analyze trends, patterns, and KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide actionable recommendations to business leaders based on data insights.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across reporting systems.
• Collaborate with directors, managers, and analysts to address business needs through data-driven solutions.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and respond to data requests in a timely, clear, and concise manner.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 6+ years of relevant work experience in data analysis or business analytics.
Preferred Education
• Master’s degree in a related field.
Skills & Knowledge
• Strong understanding of utility operations (preferred).
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/Access (complex formulas, VBA, graphing).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Strong SQL skills (Oracle or Business Objects); experience with Base SAS and programming languages such as Visual Basic, Perl, or C.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and influence skills to work with cross-functional leadership.
• Project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
Work Location: Oakland General Office – Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week, manager’s discretion). Equipment will be provided onsite only (PG&E laptop).
