Primary Job Title: Operations Data Analyst Alternate/Related Job Titles: Business Intelligence Analyst Data Visualization Specialist Asset Planning Data Analyst Utility Operations Data Analyst Data Analytics Consultant Location: Oakland, CA (Local Candidates Only — Hybrid) Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — 2-3 days/week onsite at OGO Contract Details: • Position Type: Contract • Contract Duration: ~6.5 months • Start: 08/13/2025 • End: 02/27/2026 • Pay Rate: $75 - $80/hr Job Summary: The Operations Data Analyst will work within the IGP-s team to provide portfolio analysis, data extraction, visualization, and actionable insights to support utility operations and asset planning. This role requires an independent, analytical thinker who thrives in cross-functional environments and can transform raw data into clear stories for decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Data Analysis & Reporting • Analyze business data to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. • Collect, clean, and integrate data from SAP, Foundry, GIS, and Copperleaf. • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Power BI or Tableau. • Create automated data routines to ensure accuracy and consistency. Business Collaboration • Work with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions. • Respond to ad-hoc data requests and support operational decision-making. Technical Data Handling • Write SQL queries in Oracle or Business Objects. • Use GIS tools for spatial data analysis and mapping. • Apply Copperleaf for lifecycle cost and asset investment planning. • Manage data extraction and secure transfer to analysts for operational use. Required Experience: • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience) • Advanced Microsoft Excel/Access (VBA, complex formulas, graphing) • Power BI and Tableau expertise • SQL query writing in Oracle or Business Objects • Base-SAS and programming (Visual Basic, Perl, C, Python) • Familiarity with utility operations Nice-to-Have Experience: • Strong trend analysis and insight generation skills • Experience in cross-functional collaboration • Ability to communicate data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences Required Skills: • Advanced Excel and Access (including VBA) • Power BI and Tableau • SQL in Oracle/Business Objects Preferred Skills: • Base-SAS and scripting/programming (Visual Basic, Perl, C, Python) • GIS data analysis • Copperleaf asset management • Data cleaning and automation Additional Skills: • Storytelling with data for decision support • Experience with SAP and Foundry • Ad-hoc analysis and operational data reporting Benefits: • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans • 401k Retirement Fund About the Client: Leading natural gas and electric energy company serving millions of customers across the United States.
