We are looking for an experienced Oracle Business Analyst with deep functional expertise in Oracle Payroll Cloud.
Job Title : Oracle Business Analyst
Duration : Long term
ONSITE: Los Angeles, CA - Hybrid - 3 day a week
The ideal candidate will support payroll operations by analyzing business needs, configuring Oracle Payroll Cloud modules, improving payroll processes, and ensuring accurate, compliant payroll execution within the Oracle HCM suite.Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Analyze payroll processes, compliance rules, and regulatory requirements to design effective system solutions.
• Document current and future state workflows, business rules, and configuration logic.
Oracle Payroll Cloud :
• Support Oracle Payroll Cloud components including Payroll Definitions, Elements, Fast Formulas, Costing, Balances, and Calculation Cards.
• Maintain and optimize payroll flows, validations, earnings/deductions, and statutory calculations.
• Support and maintenance of time & labor integrations, payment methods, and year-end processing activities.
Testing & Implementation Support
• Lead SIT, UAT, regression testing, and issue resolution for payroll cycles and system enhancements.
• Support full‐cycle implementations, upgrades, and quarterly release validations.
• Work with technical teams on data migration, conversions, and configuration deployments.
Operational Support & Issue Resolution
• Provide day‐to‐day production support for payroll operations and troubleshoot payroll calculation issues.
• Ensure timely resolution of defects, configuration updates, and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with audit, SOX, and statutory requirements.
Reporting & Integrations
• Develop and support payroll reports using OTBI, BI Publisher, HCM Extracts, and dashboard tools.
• Collaborate with integration teams to support interfaces with Finance, Time & Attendance, and other third‐party systems.
• Validate payroll costing and general ledger integrations.
Training & Documentation
• Create functional documentation, SOPs, configuration guides, and payroll processing manuals.
• Provide training and functional guidance to payroll teams and end-users.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands‐on experience with Oracle Payroll Cloud.
• Deep functional knowledge of payroll rules, compliance standards, taxation, and payroll processing cycles.
• Experience with Fast Formulas, Payroll Flows, HCM Extracts, HDL/PBL, and BI Publisher.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‐solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Oracle Cloud Payroll certification(s).
• Experience with U.S payrolls.
• Knowledge of Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or API‐based integrations.
• Prior involvement in global or large-scale Oracle Cloud implementations.
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‐management abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to manage deadlines in a high‐volume payroll environment.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
