Oracle Developer - Pl/SQL - Migration - 6 month contract (Umbrella engagement only)
I have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Oracle Developer to play a key role in a large-scale modernisation programme. Our client is overhauling a long-standing enterprise system originally built with Oracle and PHP, moving towards a modern, service-driven architecture built in .NET (C#).
This isn't just a database swap-it's a full re-engineering of business-critical systems and logic. The current platform includes a large, complex Oracle environment with over 240 stored procedures and extensive embedded logic. The new solution will run on .NET with a PostgreSQL or MySQL backend, and you'll help drive the transition.
As such I am keen to speak with candidates who have:
β’ A background working with Oracle PL/SQL, including advanced use of procedures, triggers, and packages, ideally for corporate organisations
β’ Previous experience of re-engineering database logic into .NET/C# systems-not just rewriting, but redesigning
β’ Deep knowledge of Oracle architecture and how backend logic interfaces with applications
β’ Hands-on experience with data migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL or MySQL
β’ Ability to work across engineering, QA, and business teams
β’ Clear, professional communication and documentation abilities
Desirable skills include:
β’ Experience with legacy PHP systems tied into Oracle
β’ Familiarity with AI-driven development and code migration tools
β’ Knowledge of database version control, CI/CD practices, and service-based architecture
β’ Experience with large-scale system transformations or brownfield projects
β’ C# and .NET expertise, particularly in back-end or service-oriented development
