About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Physical Security Systems Engineer to join the team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career (junior to mid-level) who has hands-on experience with enterprise security systems and is eager to grow in a dynamic environment. The engineer will support, maintain, and optimize our physical security technology stack, including access control, video management, reporting systems, and related internal applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and troubleshoot Lenel access control systems and integrated subsystems.
• Support and maintain enterprise video management systems (VMS), ensuring uptime and reliability.
• Manage, monitor, and optimize system databases (SQL-based), including data integrity and reporting.
• Build dashboards and generate insights using Tableau and other reporting data visualization tools.
• Work on system checks and ensure uptime of the Systems supported by the team
• Support internal applications and integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve end-user tickets and escalations in a timely manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, providing after-hours support when required.
• Collaborate with IT teams on system administration, servers, and network infrastructure.
• Establish strong working relationships with internal teams through clear communication.
• Create and maintain documentation, user guides, and “how-to” materials for end-users.
• Identify and implement process automation opportunities, leveraging AI and other technologies to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to system integrations, upgrades, patch management, and compliance activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–4 years of experience in physical security systems engineering or IT systems support.
• Hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard (or similar enterprise access control systems).
• Knowledge of video management platforms (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar).
• Proficiency in SQL (queries, data management) and working with relational databases.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service mindset for handling user support.
• Solid understanding of system administration, networking fundamentals, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Quick learner, self-motivated, and a strong team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating clear documentation.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
• Experience with cloud-hosted or hybrid security platforms.
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI).
• Experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau (or similar BI tools).
