Brunel is hiring a Planning & Scheduling Engineer to work with a major Oil and Gas company in Spring, TX on a long term contract!
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage, and update the integrated master schedule for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and project execution plan.
• Evaluate contractor schedules for accuracy, logic, interfaces, and consistency with project objectives and control estimates.
• Define expectations for schedule deliverables, including required formats, level of detail, and reporting cadence.
• Implement and oversee the project’s progress measurement system to track actual progress against planned milestones.
• Maintain close coordination with project teams and planning personnel across multiple functions and locations.
• Identify trends and variances from plan early and provide clear communication to project stakeholders.
• Champion capital efficiency and drive continuous improvement across planning and scheduling processes.
• Develop and maintain schedule visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
• (Preferred) Use SQL or Python to support custom reporting, data analysis, or automation of schedule data.
Required Software Proficiency:
• Primavera P6 (core scheduling tool)
• Microsoft Excel (advanced level for analysis and reporting)
• Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire (for visualization and dashboard development)
• (Preferred but not required) SQL or Python for data analytics and automation
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
• Extensive experience in project controls with a focus on planning and scheduling for large capital projects.
• Familiarity with international projects or willingness to relocate to project sites as needed.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle and key scheduling principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and consulting skills across diverse teams.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
