Responsibilities Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance through proactive monitoring and tuning. Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity. Perform performance tuning and query optimization using advanced techniques to enhance database efficiency. Design, create, and modify database schemas, tables, indexes, and stored procedures aligned with application requirements. Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and other scripting tools to improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with development teams to support database design, data modeling, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services). Conduct troubleshooting of complex database issues related to MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL environments. Ensure security best practices are followed by implementing access controls and monitoring for potential vulnerabilities. Participate in capacity planning and scalability assessments to support future growth initiatives. Qualifications Proven experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator with a strong understanding of database administration principles. Hands-on expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and high availability configurations for PostgreSQL or similar databases such as MySQL or Oracle. Proficiency in Linux operating systems with experience in Bash scripting and Shell Scripting for automation tasks. Solid knowledge of SQL programming language along with experience in PL/SQL for complex data operations. Familiarity with database design principles including schema development and indexing strategies. Experience supporting ETL processes using tools like SSIS or equivalent data integration solutions. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple database platforms including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
