Solutions Architect

Shift Time – Standard Business Hours (Potential After/Off-Hours as Needed) Job Description: As a Solutions Architect, you will design and define system architecture and solutions for integrating multiple platforms, operating systems, cloud environments, and enterprise applications. This role supports a Digital Engineering transformation initiative by enabling the implementation and integration of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions and enterprise engineering systems. The Solutions Architect will collaborate with engineering, IT, cybersecurity, and development teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical architecture while ensuring performance, security, and enterprise integration standards are maintained. You will play a key role in delivering digital engineering solutions and supporting enterprise-wide adoption of PLM platforms including Aras Innovator within a research-driven technical environment. Duties: Design and define enterprise system architectures integrating applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms Lead technical solution development for PLM deployments and digital engineering initiatives Develop conceptual and detailed solution architectures using standard and custom application components Translate business and technical requirements into scalable system solutions Lead and guide technical implementation teams during system deployment and integration phases Facilitate stakeholder workshops and technical planning sessions Support architecture governance processes and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards Perform system analysis to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective solutions Develop technical proposals, documentation, requirements specifications, and solution design documents Lead or participate in Proof-of-Concept (POC) engagements and technical demonstrations Coordinate subsystem integration and ensure compatibility across enterprise platforms Provide technical guidance to software developers, database administrators, and engineering teams Support DevOps processes, system lifecycle planning, and enterprise architecture initiatives Ensure system security, scalability, and reliability within enterprise deployments Education/Experience/Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) 8+ years of experience in Systems Architecture, Software Architecture, or Enterprise Solutions Architecture 8+ years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including architecture, design, development, and testing 8+ years of experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems 3+ years of experience developing or supporting ARAS Innovator PLM solutions Strong experience with SQL Server administration and database architecture Experience with DevOps tools, processes, and software deployment methodologies Strong knowledge of web technologies including C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and XSL Experience designing and integrating enterprise software systems and infrastructure platforms Ability to translate business requirements into technical system specifications and architecture Experience leading architecture planning sessions and technical solution implementations Must Haves: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical experience 8+ years of Solutions Architecture or Systems Architecture experience 8+ years of experience with PLM systems and enterprise application architecture 3+ years of experience with ARAS Innovator PLM Strong experience with SQL Server, system integration, and enterprise architecture design Experience translating business requirements into technical architecture solutions Experience with web programming technologies (C#, .NET, JavaScript, HTML, XML) Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Lexington, MA Only US Citizens required for this position and comfortable working on W2 Desired Skills: Experience with enterprise PLM implementations Experience supporting digital engineering initiatives or model-based systems engineering Knowledge of data migration techniques from legacy systems Experience working within Agile / Scrum development environments Experience supporting engineering processes such as change management, quality systems, or manufacturing planning Strong technical leadership and stakeholder communication skills Other Information: Contract role for 3+ years Hybrid schedule – Onsite 1 day per week (Wednesday) with remote work flexibility Candidates located within 100 miles of Lexington, MA preferred Clearance: Interim clearance sufficient to start Interview Process: Initial Zoom interview, technical interview, and final leadership interview Candidates may occasionally be required to visit onsite for workshops or team collaboration Candidate Questionnaire (Pre-screen): Do you have 8+ years of Systems or Solutions Architecture experience?
