Power BI Architect - Supply Chain & Security Data Analytics

Location Requirement This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Remote work is not available - candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the NY area. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to lead enterprise-level analytics initiatives in the supply chain domain, with an emphasis on building secure, scalable BI solutions. The role focuses on designing and delivering high-performance data models and dashboards that drive actionable business insights while maintaining a security-minded approach to data architecture and governance. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Power BI, Snowflake, and dimensional modeling, with a strong track record of translating complex business requirements into effective BI solutions particularly within high-compliance or security-conscious environments. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement end-to-end data models for complex supply chain scenarios • Build semantic layers and star schemas to enable intuitive, high-performance analytics • Work with Snowflake, other cloud/on-prem data sources, and design optimized data structures • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data teams to define KPIs, dimensions, and fact tables • Develop optimized Power BI reports, dashboards, and paginated reports • Define and enforce best practices for data modeling, governance, and security (Row-Level Security, data masking, and access control) • Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to BI developers and analysts Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of experience in data analytics and BI architecture roles • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Power BI (DAX, Power Query, visualization best practices) • Strong background in Snowflake and star schema design for analytics • Proven experience in dimensional modeling and supply chain data (inventory, procurement, demand planning, logistics, etc.) • Strong SQL skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets • Demonstrated experience implementing secure BI solutions with RLS, data masking, and governance controls • Security-minded approach to data design, with awareness of sensitive data handling and access best practices • (Preferred) Prior experience working with security-related datasets or analytics in regulated industries (e.g., security operations, risk analytics, compliance reporting) • Ability to align technical solutions with business goals Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft certifications (Power BI, Azure Data Engineer). • Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks, or dbt. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD for BI workflows.
