Power BI Data Analyst 6 Month Contract (Possible extension) Location: Fully Onsite (Client located in Spring, TX) • Must be able to work on W-2 basis • Must be local to the Spring, TX area or willing to relocate to the Spring, TX area Job Description This international industry leader has an immediate long-term contract opportunity in Spring, TX for an Power BI Data Analyst. This position requires working onsite Monday-Friday. Contract Duration: 12+ Months The position requires 4+ years of data management, modelling, and BI experience. The successful candidate will possess a strong data modeling, data visualization background and will provide expertise and best data engineering practices. The candidate should have a demonstrable record of being able to interact effectively with business stakeholders in all functional areas to gather and understand business requirements and reporting needs. Ability to learn new technologies, welcome challenges, accept new responsibilities, work well as individual and as a team and adapt quickly is essential. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Data Integration & Modeling • Connect and consolidate data from multiple platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Excel, SQL databases, ERP systems) into Power BI • Design and maintain robust data models that support dynamic reporting and analytics Dashboard Development: • Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards tailored to business transformation projects • Ensure visualizations are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with stakeholder needs Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner with teams in Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, IT, etc to understand data requirements and business processes • Translate business needs into technical solutions and reporting frameworks Process Improvement & Automation: • Identify opportunities to streamline data workflows and automate reporting processes • Support change management initiatives by providing data-driven insights Governance & Quality Assurance: • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across all reporting platforms • Document data sources, transformation logic, and dashboard usage guidelines • Gather large and complex data sets to meet business requirements. • Re-designing data marts for scalability and optimization. • Ensure data architecture supports existing and future requirements of evolving business model • Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. • Create and maintain documentation for each step in the data lifecycle • Develop and maintain operational dashboard and executive-level reporting using tools like Tableau, or Power BI • Partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics leaders and teams to manage the key data processes, tools, and architectures needed to deliver confidence in regular reports. • Collaborate with Enterprise Data and Analytics team to implement data management, data quality best practices and standards • Formulate and provide status updates on project plans and schedules to meet goals/objectives Minimum Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling • Experience integrating Smartsheet and other cloud-based tools into BI platforms • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Experience working on business transformation projects • Experience working on enterprise system transformation projects Preferred Qualifications: • Oil & Gas or energy industry experience • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. • A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets. • Strong organizational skills and comfort interacting with different lines of business, IT, and senior management • Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to work with incomplete data or open-ended questions, and translate into actionable items EDUCATION Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field You Will Receive The Following Benefits: Medical & Dental Insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) 401(k) Paid Sick Time Leave Pre-tax Commuter Benefit Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future.
