Power BI Developer (Contract) Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite per week) Duration: Immediate Start – May 27, 2027 E mployment Terms: STRICTLY W2 ONLY. Pay Range: $49.00 – $59.00 / hour Job Summary A premier financial services organization is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with 5+ years of experience to join their Risk Technology group. This critical role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying robust business intelligence solutions and low-code applications. The ideal candidate will leverage Power BI for advanced data visualization, reporting, and custom application development, transforming complex business requirements into actionable technological insights. Primary Responsibilities • Power BI Architecture: Design, build, and deploy complex, interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to support enterprise risk technology initiatives. • Data Engineering & Modeling: Connect to diverse institutional data sources, execute data transformation workflows using Power Query, and build scalable data models. • Advanced Calculations: Write and optimize advanced DAX calculations to track key business metrics and critical performance indicators (KPIs). • Deployment & Security: Publish, distribute, and schedule automated report refreshes while maintaining strict security access controls and scalability standards. • Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and fine-tune dashboard responsiveness and backend data pipelines to optimize report loading speeds. Key Skills and Competencies: • Core BI Toolkit: Expert-level mastery of DAX, Power Query, and complex Data Modeling. • Workflow Automation: Strong familiarity with Power Automate to design and manage automated business workflows. • Database Management: Highly proficient in SQL querying, database administration, and structured data environments. • Cloud & Integration: Exposure to Azure cloud services and a solid understanding of REST APIs for system integration are highly advantageous. • Scripting Languages: Functional knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R is a major plus. • Professional Attributes: Sharp analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional technology teams. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated professional experience in Power BI development. • Portfolio: A proven track record of architecting advanced Power BI dashboards within high-volume data environments.
