Role description
Mission:
• To support the Power BI team through the 3-year migration project that just ended and help with administrative and development tasks.
• Will also manage the Power BI infrastructure, ensure data governance, and develop reports and dashboards to meet the organization's data analysis needs.
Day-to-Day:
• Collabera is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Sr. Power BI Engineer to support the daily operations and manage the Power BI infrastructure.
• The role encompasses both Power BI Administration (40%) and Development (60%). As an administrator, responsibilities include managing the Power BI infrastructure—such as servers, gateways, and data sources—configuring security and user permissions, monitoring system performance, and implementing data governance policies to ensure quality and compliance. The role also involves license management and providing technical support to users.
• On the development side, the focus is on designing and optimizing data models, performing data transformation using Power Query, and building interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI Desktop.
• It includes integrating diverse data sources, applying advanced analytics techniques, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights. Additionally, the role supports user enablement through training and guidance.
Must Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in both Power BI administration and development roles.
• Strong understanding of Power BI architecture, security model, data modeling, semantic model, and data visualization concepts.
• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query Editor, DAX, M language, Power Automate platform, direct query and import dataset mechanisms.
• Experience with managing Power BI infrastructure, monitoring, automation, alerting mechanisms, configuring security settings, and providing technical support to users.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
Plusses:
• Certifications such as Data Analyst Associate or Power BI Developer Associate.
• Knowledge in Fabric is a HUGE ADVANTAGE
• Understanding and Experience with Customer support process is a big advantage.
