Jersey City, NJ β€” Hybrid 12+ Month Contract W2 Only 8+ Years Experience Financial or CybersecurityΒ Β Domain Required We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer to build and deliver dashboards and reports using data sourced from our Azure Databricks Lakehouse. The role will focus on developing stakeholder-specific dashboards by source system, ensuring accurate data representation, consistent metrics, and high-quality visualizations. This is a hands-on development role working closely with data engineering and business teams. ? Critical Requirements β€’ 8+ years of overall experience required β€’ Recent financial domain experience required β€’ W2 candidates only β€” no C2C or 1099 Key Responsibilities Dashboard Development β€’ Design and develop interactive Power BI reports and dashboards β€’ Build Cyber Dashboards aligned to individual source systems β€’ Implement drill-downs, drill-throughs, slicers, and advanced visualizations Databricks Integration β€’ Connect Power BI to Databricks SQL endpoints and Unity Catalog tables β€’ Consume curated Gold-layer datasets for reporting and analytics β€’ Support both Import and DirectQuery modes Data Modeling β€’ Develop and maintain Power BI data models (star schema, relationships) β€’ Create DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs β€’ Work with data engineers to ensure optimized datasets for reporting Data Transformation β€’ Use Power Query (M language) to clean, shape, and transform incoming data β€’ Validate and reconcile data to ensure accuracy and consistency Governance & Security β€’ Implement row-level security (RLS) for user-based access β€’ Ensure dashboards align with enterprise data governance and access control policies Performance Optimization β€’ Optimize report performance through efficient DAX calculations β€’ Apply model optimization and dataset tuning techniques Stakeholder Collaboration β€’ Work with business users and SMEs to understand metric and reporting requirements β€’ Translate business needs into usable dashboard solutions β€’ Provide ongoing support for feedback, enhancements, and issue resolution Required Qualifications β€’ 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience β€’ Strong proficiency with Power BI Desktop and Service β€’ Expert-level DAX and Power Query (M) skills β€’ Solid data modeling experience (star schema, relationships) β€’ Experience integrating Power BI with Azure Databricks β€’ Strong SQL skills and understanding of data transformation concepts β€’ Experience implementing row-level security (RLS) Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience working with Databricks Lakehouse and Unity Catalog β€’ Exposure to financial services or cybersecurity data and reporting β€’ Experience building dashboards across multiple data domains and source systems β€’ Familiarity with Azure tools (ADF, ADLS, Entra ID) Technical Skills Power BI β€” DAX, Power Query, Reports & Dashboards Azure Databricks β€” SQL Warehouse, Data Consumption SQL & Data Modeling Data Visualization & Reporting Data Governance & Security (RLS, Access Control) Unity Catalog & Lakehouse Architecture ?
