Role description
Power BI Developer | 6 Month Contract | Outside IR35
We're looking for a Power BI Developer to design, build, and optimise data models and dashboards that drive business decision-making. You'll be responsible for developing reliable reporting solutions, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering scalable BI assets that empower teams across sales, finance, and product.
Location: London
Contract: 6 Months (OIR35)
Rate: £375-450 p/day
Key Responsibilities:
• Designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Creating and optimising data models with Power BI Desktop and the service.
• Writing advanced DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations.
• Working with SQL databases to extract, clean, and shape data for reporting.
• Implementing row-level security, workspace management, and governance best practices.
• Partnering with business stakeholders to translate reporting requirements into BI solutions.
• Ensuring dashboards are performant, user-friendly, and scalable.
Key Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling).
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Platform (e.g. ADF, Synapse, Data Lake) or other cloud equivalents (AWS/GCP).
• Experience implementing governance, security, and optimisation in Power BI.
• Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and deliver BI solutions aligned to business needs.
