Job Title: Power BI Developer
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (3 Days/Week from the office)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer with strong expertise in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing enterprise-grade Power BI solutions, building scalable semantic models, and translating business requirements into actionable insights. The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality reporting and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
• Build and optimize semantic data models, DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query (M) transformations.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into effective reporting solutions.
• Connect and integrate data from multiple data sources, including SQL databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Optimize report performance, data refresh schedules, and query execution.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace governance, deployment pipelines, and Power BI best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to develop scalable and efficient data models.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational governance standards.
Required Skills
• 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Warehousing.
• Strong expertise in:
• Power BI Desktop
• Power BI Service
• DAX
• Power Query (M)
• Data Modeling
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, star schema, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and Power BI deployment best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management experience.
Preferred Skills
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, or Snowflake.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and version control for Power BI deployments.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification
