Power BI Developer

Power BI Developer – Subcontract (1099) 4–5 Month Project | Remote (Must live within U.S.-Based Only) Alpha Tango LLC is seeking a Power BI Developer (Subcontractor) for a fixed-duration analytics project. This role is delivery-focused and requires consistent daytime availability for collaboration, reviews, and issue resolution. Work Requirements (Non-Negotiable) • U.S.-based contractor only • • Availability Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time • • Must be reachable during business hours via Slack/Teams and email • • Ability to attend scheduled meetings and respond promptly during the workday • Honest and consistent availability is critical to project success Project Deliverables (Defined Scope) The subcontractor will be responsible for delivering: • 1–2 Power BI datasets / semantic models • 6–10 production Power BI dashboards/reports • 20–40 DAX measures (KPIs, calculations, business logic) • Row-Level Security (RLS) configuration where required • Dataset refresh configuration and validation • Documentation covering: • Data sources and models • Measure definitions • Report descriptions and refresh schedules • Up to two (2) revision cycles per dashboard What You Will Do • Build Power BI datasets from approved data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, Azure) • Develop dashboards and reports aligned to defined requirements • Write and optimize DAX measures • Validate report outputs against source data • Support user review and acceptance testing • Apply revisions during scheduled feedback cycles • Participate in regular status and review meetings Required Experience • 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development • Strong experience with DAX and data modeling • Working knowledge of SQL • Experience with Power BI Service (workspaces, publishing, refreshes) • Ability to work within a defined scope and timeline Engagement Details • Independent contractor (1099) • Duration: approximately 4–5 months • Remote (U.S.-based) • Hourly or task-based compensation • Subcontractor agreement and NDA required • Contractor responsible for taxes and insurance How to Respond Please include: • Brief summary of Power BI experience • Confirmation of availability Monday–Friday, 8–5 CT • Hourly rate • Examples of similar Power BI work Note: This project requires real-time collaboration during Central Time business hours.
