What you'll be doing?
We are seeking a Power BI Developer to join our newly formed Group Data Office (GDO). As a vital member of the new team, you will play a key role in the growth and development of our Power BI team. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of Power BI within an Azure environment, how to work with multiple disparate data, data modelling (DAX), and user experience design, combined with a track record of successful delivery.
Reporting to the Visualisation Team Lead, this role sits in the Visualisation Team within the Group Data Office (GDO). The Visualisation Team will set the enterprise standards across all aspects of visualisation design, build, test, deploy. They will establish the GDO as a Centre of Excellence for how we visualise our data as well as the technical build & design standards; bringing together the community of analysts across the business. They will also support in implementing aspects of the enterprise reporting strategy, governance and control.
You will be expected to:
Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insight to a range of non-technical stakeholders
Collaborate with GDOs business analysts, IT architects, Analysts to understand and identify data / reporting requirements,
Leverage your experience in data modelling and query building to optimize the performance of solutions built in Power BI
Work with data modellers to ensure accuracy, scalability and consistency of our models and reporting assets
Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand the questions they are really trying to answer and provide guidance on the most effective visualisations to support them
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in Power BI, Azure Synapse, and data analytics to continuously enhance team skills and deliverables
What you'll need?
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
Proven track record in Power BI development and visualisation, including a portfolio of impactful dashboards and reports
Hands-on experience using Power BI, cloud platforms, DAX, Synapse (prev. SQL Data Warehouse)
Understanding of data modelling principles and proficient in translating complex business requirements into effective data models
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem solving abilities and the capacity to think strategically while managing the day-to-day
Prior experience in the housebuilding sector an advantage
