Role description
This is an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Power BI Specialist to play a key role in a large-scale, data-driven Microsoft Cloud transformation. The successful candidate will design and deliver insightful dashboards, transform complex data into actionable intelligence, and ensure reporting aligns with strategic goals. Strong technical expertise, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential to translate business needs into effective solutions.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and gather reporting needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects.
• Integrate Fabric and Databricks with Power BI for seamless data workflows and reporting.
• Design user-friendly, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Define Power BI governance policies (consistency, scalability, security).
• Maintain Power BI best practices and documentation.
• Provide training to business users and team members on Power BI features.
• Lead workshops and create educational materials.
Skills and Experience:
• Expertise in Power BI development and BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, etc.).
• Strong integration experience with Databricks for data analytics and reporting.
• Experience with SQL, Fabric and Databricks.
• Knowledge of data modelling and working with large datasets.
• Experience in gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid understanding of data visualisation principles and best practices.
• Ability to mentor and train junior team members and end users on Power BI.
