An electric utility client is looking for aΒ PowerBI and SQL Developer who will collaborate with SQL developers to extract and transform data suitable for analysis and design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
Location:Β Rosemead, CA 91770 (HYBRID)

Pay Rate: $83/hr. on W2
Duration: 8 months or longer
Schedule:Β M-F, 8:00 am β 5:00 pm, In office Monday and Tuesday.

β’ RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Extraction & Transformation:
β’ Collaborate with SQL developers to extract and transform data suitable for analysis.
β’ Write SQL queries to gather necessary datasets from databases.
Dashboard Development:
β’ Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.
β’ Ensure dashboards are visually appealing and user-friendly.
Data Modeling:
β’ Create and manage data models in Power BI, ensuring accurate relationships between datasets.
Performance Optimization:
β’ Optimize Power BI reports for performance, reducing loading times and enhancing user experience.
β’ Debug and resolve any issues that arise with the Power BI dashboards.
User Training & Support:
β’ Provide support and training to end-users, helping them understand and interact with the dashboards effectively.
Maintenance & Updates:
β’ Regularly update dashboards with new data, maintaining data integrity and relevance.
β’ Monitor dashboard performance and user feedback for continuous improvement.
Collaboration:
β’ Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate on dashboard designs.
β’ Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and roadmap.
QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ A Bachelor's degree is required.
β’ Being able to write SQL code expertly, then moving information to PowerBI.
β’ Manager will ask their Analytical skills, time management, project management, and what kind of tools they used for project management. SQL expertise and PowerBI are the main questions they will also ask on the interview
β’ Strong SQL background is the most important requirement.
β’ Open to do remote, but must be working in the US and can work PT hours.
SQL Expertise:
β’ Strong understanding of SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and transformation.
β’ Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
Power BI Expertise:
β’ Proven experience in developing dashboards and reports in Power BI.
β’ Knowledge of Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data manipulation.
Data Visualization Principles:
β’ Understanding of data visualization best practices to create clear and impactful dashboards.
Analytical Skills:
β’ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data trends and provide insights.
Attention to Detail:
β’ Meticulous in ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the dashboard development process.
Communication Skills:
β’ Effective communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
User Experience (UX) Awareness:
β’ Awareness of user experience design principles to enhance dashboard usability.
DESIRED SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES:
Experience with Other BI Tools:
β’ Familiarity with other business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) can be an asset.
Knowledge of ETL Processes:
β’ Understanding of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools for data integration.
Project Management Skills:
β’ Ability to manage projects, timelines, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
