Role description
Planet Technology has partnered with a Manhattan company to locate a Power BI/SQL Data Engineer for a long-term contract role.
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented SQL/Power BI Data Analyst to be responsible for extracting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide valuable insights and support data-driven decision making. Your expertise in SQL and Power BI will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into meaningful reports, dashboards, and visualizations for various stakeholders within the organization.
Please notes, candidates must be willing to be onsite in New York at least 3 days a week.

Responsibilities:
β’ Develop and maintain robust SQL and T-SQL queries and scripts to extract and manipulate data from multiple databases and sources.
β’ Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations to communicate data insights effectively.
β’ Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements.
β’ Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data and provide actionable recommendations to improve business performance and operations.
β’ Perform data analysis and validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data sets.
β’ Conduct ad-hoc data investigations and exploratory analysis to uncover key insights and identify areas for improvement.
β’ Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and integrate data from various sources to support analytics initiatives.
β’ Develop data models, data flows, and data transformation processes to enable efficient data analysis and reporting.
β’ Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in SQL and Power BI to continuously enhance data analysis capabilities.
Requirements:
β’ 6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence (BI), with advanced proficiency in Power BI
β’ Strong expertise in SQL, including hands-on experience with relational databases and query optimization
β’ Solid understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced calculations and data modeling in Power BI
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
β’ A keen eye for data visualization and user experienceβable to design intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and impactful dashboards
