Role description
Senior Microsoft Dataverse & Power Platform Developer Location: Remote - Washington DC Preferred Overview Brooksource is seeking a Senior Microsoft Dataverse and Power Platform Developer to accelerate a mission-critical modernization effort for our federal civilian client. This role will focus on migrating an existing Oracle/.NET application into the Microsoft Power Platform and Dataverse, defining and converting schemas, and enabling robust Power BI reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Dataverse—both as a schema designer and developer—paired with strong Power BI skills to help transform legacy systems into scalable, secure, and data-driven solutions. This individual must be comfortable jumping into a project already in progress, quickly assessing Oracle database structures, and recommending/implementing strategies to optimize Dataverse and Power Platform adoption. Key Responsibilities • Serve as the Dataverse SME and developer, defining schemas, relationships, and conversion strategies for migrating from Oracle to Dataverse. • Assess Oracle database schemas and map them into Dataverse for optimal performance and reporting. • Support the migration of a legacy Oracle/.NET application into the Power Platform ecosystem. • Design and deliver Power BI reports and dashboards leveraging Dataverse and other integrated data sources. • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and project stakeholders to accelerate progress and ensure quality delivery. • Provide hands-on development of Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI while ensuring compliance with federal IT security and governance standards. • Troubleshoot, optimize, and document data models and reporting structures. • Act as a mentor and technical lead to team members who are newer to Dataverse/Power Platform. Required Qualifications • U.S. Citizenship (required for federal clearance eligibility). • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including: • 5+ years with Power Platform and Dataverse (schema design, migration, performance tuning). • Strong experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, relationships, dashboard design). • Proven ability to assess Oracle schemas and design effective Dataverse models. • Hands-on experience with: • Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) • Power Automate (Cloud Flows; RPA a plus) • Microsoft 365, Azure, REST APIs • SQL, JSON, JavaScript, PowerFx • Experience supporting federal government IT projects with strict governance/security requirements. Preferred Qualifications • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) or higher. • Experience migrating .NET/Oracle applications into Power Platform. • Knowledge of federal IT governance, compliance, and reporting requirements. • Background in Agile/Scrum delivery environments. • Excellent communication skills and ability to quickly integrate into active teams.
