Role description
Role title: Power Platform Specialist TPR grade & pay group: Grade 8 & Digital Directorate: Digital, Data & Technology Starting salary: Salary starting from £47,040 per annum dependent on skills and experience, plus excellent benefits package, and flexible working arrangements Contract type: Fixed Term Contract - 18 Months Location: Brighton: Hybrid (6 days per month in the office) The role and responsibilities The Power Platform Specialist is a hands-on technical position within The Pensions Regulator's DDaT Directorate, reporting to the Head of Data Science and Engineering. The specialist leads the design, development, and implementation of Power Platform solutions-primarily Power Automate, with support for Power BI and Power Apps-to streamline business processes, enhance data integration, and improve reporting. Key responsibilities include supporting the establishment of a Centre of Excellence, collaborating across teams to identify automation opportunities, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant. The role requires strong expertise in Power Automate, working knowledge of Power BI and Power Apps, experience with Microsoft 365, Dataverse, D365, and agile methodologies. The specialist is accountable for delivering robust automation solutions, contributing to strategic digital transformation, and supporting a community of practice around Power Platform and D365. We support our team in gaining Microsoft certifications using the Enterprise Skills Initiative. There are many opportunities for career growth within the wider DDaT directorate and beyond. The role criteria • Leading the design and delivery of complex Power Platform workflows to streamline business processes and reduce manual effort. • Providing light-touch support and guidance on Power Platform development where appropriate. • Collaborating with colleagues across TPR to identify automation opportunities and advocate for Power Platform adoption. • Contributing to the setup and governance of the Power Platform CoE, including best practices, standards, and reusable components. • Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with TPR's governance frameworks and data protection regulations. • Representing Power Platform capabilities in internal and cross-government forums and contributing to strategic planning for automation and digital transformation. The team The successful applicant will be joining a multi-disciplinary team focused on process analysis, simplification and automation including business analysts, service design specialists, data scientists and more.
