Role description

Overview/ Purpose
We are looking for a senior level BI and Analytics talent with a minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience who can take charge of key/critiical short and long term initiatives for the Data, Analytics and BI teams.
β’ Data Source Re-Design:
β’ Help design and develop new data sources using relationships to replace an existing data source which is an extract of a data warehouse view that formed from a massive web of tables and views. This is heavily used but nearly impossible to update or troubleshoot, which is a major operational bottleneck.
β’ Data Model Refactoring:
β’ Partner with business stakeholders and data engineering team to design the new data model which the data engineering team will develop and lead testing along with others on Business Intelligence team. The new design must be efficient and fit to purpose to support existing and desired new business use cases.
β’ Roadmap for Growth:
β’ Eventually lead a team of 3-5 and step into a "lead-from-the-front" management role
Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop and manage business facing data sources to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs
β’ Design scalable semantic models and reusable components to enable self-service analytics
β’ Partner with data product owners and data engineering to prioritize and design data assets
β’ Lead BI projects end-to-end including scoping, requirements, design, build, QA, and rollout
β’ Partner with stakeholders to clarify requirements, workshop solutions
β’ Communicate insights clearly through data storytelling and written summaries
β’ Manage testing and deployment of new data assets, products and solutions
β’ Partner with data scientists on development of training data sets and production data pipelines
β’ Provide technical guidance, peer review, and mentoring for analysts
β’ Identify and drive improvements in reporting processes, performance, and data quality
β’ Present insights and recommendations to leadership and facilitate decision-making
β’ Ensure solutions meet governance, security, and documentation expectations
β’ Provide expertise and support to business stakeholders to promote data literacy, analytical self-sufficiency and data-driven decision making throughout the organization
Qualifications/Experience
β’ Bachelorβs Degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred
β’ 8+ years of experience in BI / analytics with demonstrated ownership of complex analytics solutions
β’ Advanced data visualization skills including semantic modeling, performance optimization, and reusable KPI frameworks
β’ Advanced proficiency in SQL, including writing complex, performant queries to support analytics and troubleshoot underlying data issues.
β’ Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, grain definition, keys, and relationship design.
β’ Strong understanding of modern data warehouse architecture, including layered design, transformation logic, historical tracking, and performance considerations.
β’ Proven project leadership: scoping work, estimating effort, sequencing deliverables, and coordinating contributors
β’ Ability to coach and review work of other analysts; sets standards for visualization and metric definitions
β’ Comfort working in ambiguity and independently deriving actionable insights
β’ Strong data storytelling, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
β’ Demonstrated ability to apply data governance standards (definitions, lineage, access controls) in day-to-day work
β’ Strong business acumen; proactively identifies opportunities for insight and process improvement
