Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Smithfield, RI that is seeking a Principal Data Engineer. Responsibilities:
β’ Passion and intellectually curiosity to learn new technologies and business areas
β’ Exploring new technology products and using them to help our business needs
β’ Working on teams to improve efficiency
β’ Delivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines
Requirements
β’ Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) required with 10+ years of experience
β’ 6+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data mart concepts & implementations
β’ 4+ years of experience developing ELT/ETL pipelines to move data to and from Snowflake data store
β’ 4+ years of experience using AWS services such as EC2, IAM, S3, EKS, KMS, SMS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, etc.
β’ 4+ years of experience in object-oriented programming languages (Strong programming skills required in Python or Java)
β’ Passion for Data Analysis with the ability to navigate and master complex transactional and warehouse databases
β’ Hands-on experience on SQL query optimization and performance tuning is preferred
β’ Experience in job scheduling tools (Control-M preferred)
β’ Advanced SQL/Snow SQL knowledge is preferred
β’ Strong data modeling skills doing either Dimensional or Data Vault models
β’ Experience in Container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
β’ Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Docker)
β’ Experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM) is a plus
β’ Proven track record to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced environment
β’ Good interpersonal skills to work with multiple teams in the organization
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
