Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Data Scientist to lead innovative AI/ML/NLP initiatives that transform complex business challenges into impactful solutions. Operating in a dynamic, remote environment across the continental U.S., you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge prototypes, guiding cross-functional teams to deploy scalable and secure data-driven models that drive strategic advancements. Education
Mastersβ degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Clearance
Must have resided continuously in the United States for at least the last 2 years and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance based on USPTO regulations
Onsite Requirements
This position is fully remote and can be performed from any location within the continental U.S.
Responsibilities
β’ Lead the operation and maintenance of an innovation lab focused on ideation, design, and engineering of cloud-native modernization solutions using emerging technologies
β’ Develop end-to-end plans for AI/ML/NLP innovations aligned with cybersecurity policies and compliance standards, including Authorization to Operate certifications
β’ Create and engineer pilots, prototypes, and proof-of-concept solutions to validate emerging technologies and modernization opportunities
β’ Implement security best practices, transparency, and traceability within data models and processes
β’ Design and deploy predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses to address complex business problems
β’ Present insights, recommendations, and demonstrations to executives and technical stakeholders in a clear, data-driven manner
β’ Collaborate with data engineering, product, and business teams to translate requirements into effective data solutions
β’ Conduct exploratory data analysis and generate actionable insights from large and complex datasets
β’ Support initiatives to enhance customer and user experience through design metrics, wireframes, and information architecture
β’ Develop reusable code libraries and establish best practices for modernization and innovation deployment
β’ Mentor junior data scientists and guide team adoption of new technologies and techniques
β’ Stay current with advancements in data science, AI/ML research, and related fields
β’ Support Agile product teams and contribute to emerging data strategies
β’ Analyze data usage patterns to identify solutions and improve processes
Required Skills
β’ 8+ years of experience in data analytics, data modeling, machine learning, NLP, and AI technologies within cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
β’ Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
β’ Extensive experience with AI/ML/NLP frameworks, models, and tools including PyTorch, Databricks, and frontier models
β’ Hands-on expertise with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI
β’ Solid knowledge of big data platforms (Hadoop, Hive) and cloud services (S3, SageMaker, Redshift, Azure, GCP)
β’ Experience with version control and collaborative tools such as Git and Docker
β’ Proven track record of delivering impactful technology solutions and data-driven innovations in a cloud environment
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within teams
Nice to Have
β’ Experience with MLOps, model monitoring, and deployment pipelines
β’ Knowledge of computer vision, deep learning techniques, and NLP advanced methods
β’ Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Rally Agile
