Principal Data Scientist

Looking for a Senior/Principal Data Scientist to join our dynamic team focused on emerging technologies, cloud-native modernization, and AI/ML innovation. Location: Fully remote Rate: $70-$80hr. What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll help lead an innovation lab dedicated to designing and engineering prototypes, pilots, and proof-of-concept solutions using emerging technologies. Responsibilities include: • Building end-to-end AI/ML/NLP solutions aligned with cybersecurity and compliance standards • Developing predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses • Orchestrating cloud-native modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, or GCP • Creating transparency, traceability, and secure data handling across all projects • Conducting exploratory data analysis to generate actionable insights from complex datasets • Facilitating user-centered design activities such as focus groups, journey mapping, wireframing, and mockups • Presenting recommendations and technical briefings to executives and technical stakeholders • Contributing reusable code libraries, best practices, and modernization frameworks • Mentoring junior data scientists and supporting Agile product teams • Staying current with advances in AI, ML, and emerging technologies Qualifications & Experience We’re looking for someone with: • A Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or data modeling • Experience working with AI/ML/NLP, cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security-minded engineering • 2+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams • Experience with: • Python, R, SQL • AI/ML/NLP frameworks and frontier models • PyTorch, Databricks • Tableau, Power BI • Hadoop/Hive, Docker, Git • Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance Preferred Skills • Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and monitoring • Background in NLP, computer vision, or deep learning • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and related tools Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
