Job SummaryAs a Principal Operational Engineer - AWS and Amazon Connect, you will lead the migration of a legacy Cisco PCCE contact center to Amazon Connect. This critical initiative involves deep AWS architecture and operational oversight, focusing on scalability, automation, and integration with Amazon’s AI/ML services. The ideal candidate combines deep AWS experience with hands-on expertise in Amazon Connect, and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end migration of contact center systems to Amazon Connect
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, etc.)
• Integrate voice bots using Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, and other conversational AI tools
• Automate infrastructure via Terraform or CloudFormation
• Collaborate with DevOps and cross-functional teams to embed AWS security best practices
• Perform scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Utilize container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Document systems architecture and operational runbooks
• Monitor cloud environments and respond to operational issues as needed
• Support CI/CD practices in a multi-cloud or hybrid environment
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 8+ years in cloud engineering; 5+ years on AWS
• In-depth expertise in Amazon Connect and related tools
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Strong scripting skills: Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Understanding of networking, cloud security, IAM, and multi-zone deployments
• AWS Professional-level certification(s): Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer
Preferred Experience
• Master’s degree in IT or Engineering
• Experience with Azure or GCP for multi-cloud strategy
• Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services and data analytics tools
• Exposure to Agile environments and project management practices
Required Skills
