

Product Analyst
As AmmoSquared scales, we’re building a lean, high-impact product team that uses data and insights to drive decisions, improve member experience, and fuel growth. We’re looking for a curious and driven Product Analyst (contractor) to help us understand what drives engagement, activation (conversion), retention, and satisfaction across our member base. You’ll be our first dedicated analytics team member — partnering with the Head of Product and Senior Product Designer to uncover actionable insights from both data and direct member feedback. You’ll own our product analytics infrastructure and be the go-to expert for turning data into action. This is a contractor role with the potential to transition to a full-time position based on fit and business need.
Responsibilities
• Analyze product usage data to uncover patterns and trends in member behavior and feature adoption, with an initial focus on activation (conversion) during onboarding.
• Build dashboards and visualizations to support decision-making across product and leadership
• Define and track KPIs across onboarding, retention, and user engagement
• Work with the Head of Product to inform roadmap prioritization
• Synthesize qualitative feedback from reviews, surveys, support tickets, interviews, and AmmoSquared's feedback portal.
• Partner with Senior Product Designer to test and validate improvements to UX
• Uncover friction points in the member journey and suggest data-driven improvements
• Instrument events and identify opportunities to improve tracking quality
Qualifications
• 5–8+ years of experience in a product analytics role where you were responsible for discovering insights in both quantitative and qualitative data.
• Experience using product analytics tools (especially Heap)
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (especially Metabase)
• Experience with A/B testing and interpreting experiment results
• Ability to interpret qualitative feedback and turn it into testable hypotheses
• Strong communicator with the ability to tell stories with data
• A passion for member experience and improving products through data
• Bonus: Experience in e-commerce, subscription models, SaaS, and/or the firearms and outdoors industry
