Technical Product Owner - Manufacturing Technology

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead strategic product initiatives for a leading medical device manufacturer. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for manufacturing technology solutions including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and low-code development platforms.
As the Technical Product Owner, you will take ownership of product strategy, stakeholder alignment, and long-term roadmap planning while ensuring seamless collaboration across global manufacturing sites and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and comprehensive roadmaps for manufacturing technology solutions aligned with business objectives
β’ Serve as primary liaison between team members, site stakeholders (site quality, IT leads, SMEs), and development teams across global manufacturing sites
β’ Lead strategic planning sessions with senior stakeholders to align business objectives with technical capabilities and drive decision-making on priorities
β’ Develop and maintain product roadmaps with defined release plans and delivery timelines across multiple workstreams
β’ Present product strategy and progress to executive leadership while managing expectations and resolving conflicts between competing stakeholder interests
β’ Lead requirements gathering sessions and oversee creation of user stories with clear acceptance criteria that meet business objectives
β’ Assess and prioritize feature requests based on business value, technical feasibility, and resource constraints while monitoring competitive landscape
β’ Work closely with technical teams to ensure product solutions are scalable, reliable, and compliant with manufacturing quality standards
β’ Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops to gather requirements, align priorities, and ensure consistent product delivery across sites
β’ Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with product vision
Required Qualifications
Experience & Background
β’ 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in manufacturing or technology environments
β’ Proven track record of successfully leading product initiatives from concept to delivery
β’ Experience working with global manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams
β’ Strong background in manufacturing processes, quality systems, or industrial technology
β’ JIRA - Advanced proficiency in project management, issue tracking, and agile workflow management
β’ Confluence - Expert-level documentation creation, knowledge management, and collaborative content development
β’ Siemens Opcenter, CamStar, or similar MES tools - Deep understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and shop floor operations
β’ Strong understanding of manufacturing technology stack and system integrations
Technical Skills (Nice-to-Have)
β’ Mendix - Hands-on experience with low-code application development and platform management
β’ SAP S/4 HANA - Experience with enterprise resource planning and manufacturing modules
β’ Figma - UI/UX design collaboration and prototyping
β’ LIMS - Laboratory Information Management Systems knowledge
β’ IBM Maximo - Asset management and maintenance systems experience
β’ SQL or other data querying languages - For advanced data analysis capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
β’ Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in agile development environments
β’ Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards (ISO 13485, FDA regulations, etc.)
β’ Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP) or Product Management
β’ Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
