Role description
Position: Product Owner / Business Analyst – Healthcare Domain Location: Remote US Duration: 3-6 Months with Potential up to 24 months Key Responsibilities: • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. • Own and manage the product backlog; prioritize features and support sprint planning. • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) — develop test plans, execute test cycles, manage defects, and obtain business approvals. • Prepare and maintain Technical Design Documentation (TDD) and other product artifacts. • Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and troubleshooting. • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of business needs. • Review deliverables, obtain customer sign-off, and ensure readiness for production release. • Support Medicare and Medicaid-related initiatives and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within the U.S. healthcare payer industry. • Recent experience with a large regulated health insurance organization or its global technology partner (e.g., Carelon Global, Optum Global, or similar) is highly preferred. • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs, compliance, and processes. • Proficiency in SQL (ability to write and debug complex queries). • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills: • Exposure to data analytics, ETL, or reporting tools. • Familiarity with API integrations and healthcare data flows. • Knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and state-level regulations.
