The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a regional network of civil society organizations founded in 1995. SIHA works to strengthen the rights and voices of women and girls in the Horn of Africa, including Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Somaliland, Ethiopia, and Uganda. Through advocacy, community mobilization, research, and capacity building, SIHA supports women's access to justice, freedom from violence, and participation in public and political life. SIHA is committed to challenging structural gender inequality and promoting inclusive, rights-based development across the region.
Position Summary
SIHA Network is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Associate to join our dynamic team in Sudan. The successful candidate will play a dual role leveraging advanced data analysis capabilities to enhance the quality of SIHAβs Early Warning and Emergency Response (EWER) system, while also supporting project implementation, reporting, and capacity building across SIHA Sudanβs operations.
This position is central to ensuring evidence-based programming, identifying trends in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), and strengthening SIHAβs program delivery and advocacy through accurate data and quality reporting.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
β’ Conduct in-depth analysis of SGBV data collected through the EWER system to uncover trends and anomalies.
β’ Apply statistical and qualitative methods to interpret findings and develop actionable recommendations.
β’ Develop and maintain data dashboards and visualization tools to present insights clearly and effectively.
β’ Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of collected data in line with SIHAβs protocols
β’ Support SIHA Sudan teams in the strategic planning and implementation of projects to ensure impact and accountability.
β’ Strengthen program quality assurance measures across all interventions.
β’ Contribute to the development of high-quality reports, research papers, and advocacy materials.
β’ Support field teams in timely and effective reporting of activities and documentation.
β’ Provide technical input to build the analytical and reporting capacities of staff and partners.
β’ Identify capacity building opportunities and contribute to staff development planning
Qualifications, Experience And Skills Required
β’ Bachelorβs degree in statistics, economics, public health, development studies, or related field. A Masterβs degree is a strong asset.
β’ At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, project implementation, or M&E in the humanitarian or development sectors.
β’ Demonstrated knowledge of SGBV issues and gender-sensitive programming.
β’ Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SPSS, or other statistical and visualization tools.
β’ Excellent writing, reporting, and communication skills.
β’ Experience in training or capacity building is an advantage.
β’ Strong commitment to human rights, gender equality, and social justice.
