Role Overview
This role involves delivering tailored, flexible, and scalable software solutions for teams within Global Market Commodities (GMC) and Global Structured Credit Solutions (GSCS). The developer will work closely with the Front Office (traders, sales, structuring) and also support Middle Office, Trade Support, and Back Office functions where required.
The role requires a proximity development approach, with a focus on high reactivity, fast iteration, and close business interaction.
Key Responsibilities
β’ End-to-end software development including:
β’ Gathering and analyzing user requirements
β’ Designing scalable, resilient solutions
β’ Presenting technical options for strategic decision-making
β’ Implementing, testing, and delivering software applications
β’ Providing ongoing support, documentation, and training
β’ Monitor, track, and fix bugs; drive continuous improvements
β’ Suggest and implement technical architecture and tool enhancements
β’ Work collaboratively with Quants, Middle Office Analysts, Engineers, and other technology and operations teams
β’ Ensure adherence to internal compliance and governance standards
β’ Identify and lead new initiatives to:
β’ Improve business efficiency
β’ Reduce operational risk
β’ Support new activities, products, and market opportunities
β’ Regularly report development progress to team leads and stakeholders
β’ Participate in formal performance reviews and skills assessments
Technical Skills
Required:
β’ Solid software engineering background
β’ Strong knowledge of:
β’ Object-oriented programming
β’ Common architectural patterns (e.g., N-tier, MVVM)
β’ Experience integrating pricing libraries and market data tools
β’ Good understanding of:
β’ Financial derivatives (both listed and OTC)
β’ Option pricing theory and Greeks (Delta, Gamma, Vega, etc.)
β’ Exotic options (path-dependent, multi-asset)
β’ Volatility surfaces and smile construction
β’ Interest rate derivatives (e.g., bootstrapping, curve building, IRS valuation)
Preferred:
β’ .NET ecosystem (C#, WPF)
β’ Angular framework
β’ Experience with design patterns and frameworks (e.g., Unity, Spring, Prism, Castle)
Domain Knowledge
β’ Experience in global markets, preferably in Commodities (oil, gas, power)
β’ Understanding of:
β’ Risk management for linear and nonlinear products
β’ Curve marking and publishing (linear/composite)
β’ Onboarding and supporting new financial products
β’ Front Office tools and trader workflows
