About The Role
This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.
FDM is seeking a Python Developer located in Jersey City, New Jersey to support a project in the financial services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.
This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.
About You
You're our ideal candidate if you have:
β’ 5+ years of professional experience
β’ Efficient Python Skill, Strong understanding of Python syntax, data structures, and standard libraries
β’ Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming, Proficiency in writing modular, reusable, and optimized code
β’ Knowledge of unit testing (pytest, unittest) and debugging
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based systems
β’ Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
β’ Knowledge of security best practices (authentication, authorization, secret management).
β’ Proficient with Git and collaborative development workflows.
β’ Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred/Bonus Skills:
β’ Nice to have: JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js experience
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
β’ Experience with monitoring, logging, and regulatory reporting solutions.
