Python Developer β Regulatory Controls

Weβre looking for a Python Developer to join a fast-paced team building automated controls for regulatory reporting processes. This team plays a key role in designing and delivering technology solutions that support compliance with major global financial regulations, including EMIR, MIFIR, and SFTR. The work sits at the intersection of compliance, technology, and operations, with a strong emphasis on clean, scalable solutions.
As part of a technology-focused sub-team, youβll use Python and SQL to build and maintain automated controls, contribute to the build and release process for Python applications, and guide fellow developers through the development lifecycle. Youβll also collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver modular, efficient solutions.
Key Skills & Experience:
β’ Strong Python skills, ideally within a financial environment
β’ Object-oriented programming and experience with unit and end-to-end testing
β’ Proficiency with SQL and experience analysing large datasets
β’ Familiarity with Git and code repositories (e.g. Azure DevOps)
β’ Ability to engage with business users and gather technical requirements
β’ Intermediate Excel skills
β’ Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset
Desirable skills and experience:
β’ Experience building data quality or regulatory controls
β’ Ability to work with large and complex database models
β’ Exposure to AI use cases in a business context
β’ Knowledge of asset management regulations (EMIR, SFTR, MIFIR, AIFMD, ADV, KIIDS)
β’ Prior experience training or mentoring team members
β’ 3β5 years of relevant professional experience
