Job Description: Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our team supporting network automation-focused projects. In this role, you will collaborate with three development-focused teams (6-7 engineers each) to build backend applications that support network engineering automation efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to leverage their Python skills while deepening their understanding of network orchestration tools like Ciena Blue Planet MDSO, Cisco NSO, and Netcracker. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain backend applications using Python and FastAPI. • Build automation tools and reports to streamline network operations and reporting processes. • Design and manage SQL database schemas and queries. • Work with APIs to integrate external data and services. • Use data visualization techniques to create insightful and actionable reports. • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver solutions. • Troubleshoot issues and optimize application performance. • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code. • Stay current with the latest development tools, best practices, and tech trends. Required Skills & Experience: • 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience. • Strong working knowledge of SQL. • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience working with APIs, JSON, and version control (Git). • Comfortable writing test-driven/unit-tested code (TDD). • Genuine interest in networking fundamentals (e.g., OSI model, IP routing, Juniper, Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Cradlepoint, Metro Ethernet "MET", ADVA, RAD, Nokia). • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach. • Please share your GitHub or other examples of your work.
