Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer ( Python Engineer/Data-AI/ML) to join our team, focusing on building and enhancing the software infrastructure supporting Digital Pathology algorithm co-development within Personalized Healthcare Solutions. This role is crucial for developing robust software tools, automating complex workflows, ensuring system reliability, managing data pipelines effectively, and upholding compliance standards for our digital algorithm development efforts.
Responsibilities
β’ Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software systems and tools supporting algorithm development, data management, and workflow automation in digital pathology.
β’ Collaborate closely with data scientists and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions.
β’ Develop and implement automation tools to replace manual steps, improving workflow efficiency and reliability.
β’ Build, maintain, and collaborate on infrastructure for managing large datasets, including image data and metadata, ensuring data integrity and traceability.
β’ Implement and optimize algorithms and data processing pipelines developed by data scientists, focusing on performance, scalability, and maintainability using languages like Python.
β’ Develop and maintain user interfaces (GUIs) for internal and external tools to enhance usability.
β’ Integrate machine learning models and AI algorithms into production-ready software systems.
β’ Ensure adherence to software development best practices, including code reviews, version control (Git), unit and automated testing, and documentation.
β’ Implement and maintain systems ensuring data traceability and compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
β’ Proven software development experience with strong proficiency in Python or similar object-oriented languages.
β’ Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
β’ Experience with development best practices: version control (Git), testing frameworks, CI/CD concepts.
β’ Experience with data processing software, including handling image data or large datasets.
β’ Experience with GUI development frameworks (e.g., PyQt, Tkinter, React/Angular/Vue).
β’ Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect).
β’ Excellent problem-solving, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
β’ Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience.
β’ Masterβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
β’ Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical environments.
β’ Familiarity with compliance standards in regulated industries (FDA, ISO).
β’ Experience developing or integrating software for image analysis, machine learning, or AI pipelines.
β’ Experience with database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL).
β’ Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related services (S3, EC2, Lambda, Azure Blob Storage).
β’ Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
β’ Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC).
β’ Familiarity with Digital Pathology domain.
