QSR and POS Engineer _ Dallas, TX

Job Title: QSR and POS Engineer Duration: Long-Term Contract Location: Dallas, TX || Onsite Job Description: Core Responsibilities • 8-10 years of experience in QSR and Retail industry with strong understanding of point-of-sale (POS) systems and daily store operations. • Core functional knowledge of POS systems and related upstream/downstream integrations. • Experience with hardware integrations including payment terminals, QR code scanners, and other POS peripherals. • Ability to drive sound design and implementation through hands-on development, ensuring performance, extensibility, and availability. • Ability to lead technical investigations, provide cost estimates, and support architectural decisions. • Demonstrated ability to drive for results by setting high performance standards, taking ownership, and proactively achieving goals. • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze issues, compare information from multiple sources, and identify opportunities. Technical Qualifications • Proficient in C# .NET application development, including Web API and WCF services. • Hands-on scripting experience with PowerShell and shell scripting. • Strong understanding of Windows OS internals, WIM imaging, PXE/BIOS/UEFI boot workflows, and system provisioning processes. • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, systemd, and basic administration tasks (preferred). • Experience with Kubernetes platforms (K3s, GKE), Docker, and containerized application management. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and DevSecOps principles. • Experience with image creation using MDT/SCCM or similar tools and deployment processes using WDS/IPXE. • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, domain controllers, and switch-level concepts. • Knowledge of hardware interfaces including printers, scanners, payment devices, USB/serial/parallel ports, RAID storage configurations, and memory systems. • Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy, or JIRA.
