Regulatory Data Analyst - Financial Services
Location: Phoenix, AZ - Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Duration: 24-month contract
Pay Rate: $50/hr W2

This is a W2-only opportunity. We are not able to consider Corp-to-Corp (C2C), 1099, or third-party arrangements.
Join our team as a Regulatory Data Analyst where you'll play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy and compliance for regulatory reporting initiatives. This position combines deep analytical expertise with regulatory knowledge to support essential banking compliance requirements.
The Role
You'll be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and validating data elements required for critical US regulatory reports including Basel, Y-9C, 2052a, and Call Reports. Working closely with finance teams, technology partners, and data governance stakeholders, you'll ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance across enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
โข Source and profile data elements across enterprise data warehouses for regulatory reporting requirements
โข Create comprehensive Source-to-Target (S2T) mapping documentation including data hops, transformation logic, and attribute lineage
โข Collaborate with finance product owners, data stewards, and governance teams to finalize source tables and mappings
โข Perform advanced SQL queries and data validation across multiple platforms including Google BigQuery
โข Assess data quality, identify missing or inconsistent attributes, and define defaulting logic for data gaps
โข Support data control design and validation rules to ensure audit readiness and reporting accuracy
โข Document data sourcing logic, assumptions, and business rules for stakeholder review and approval
โข Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align data mappings with regulatory reporting needs
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
โข 6+ years of experience in data sourcing, financial data analytics, or regulatory reporting
โข Strong understanding of US regulatory reports including Basel, Y-9C, 2052a, Call Reports, and related frameworks
โข Proven experience supporting data sourcing for regulatory reports in collaboration with finance and reporting teams
โข Advanced SQL skills with ability to query and validate data across multiple platforms
โข Strong experience with Google BigQuery or similar cloud-based analytics tools
โข Hands-on experience creating detailed S2T mapping documents and data lineage documentation
Technical Skills:
โข Expertise in data profiling and quality assessment across large datasets
โข Experience with enterprise data warehouses and data sourcing methodologies
โข Knowledge of data transformation logic and attribute mapping processes
โข Understanding of data control points, validation rules, and governance frameworks
โข Ability to define defaulting logic and data gap remediation strategies
Preferred Background:
โข Prior experience in large banking or financial institutions
โข Experience contributing to automated control design for data completeness and accuracy
โข Knowledge of data governance processes and audit readiness requirements
Key Competencies:
