About the Role
Duo Health is seeking a talented and collaborative Data Engineer with expertise in ETL, data visualization, and reporting to join our growing team. In this role, youโll transform raw data into actionable insights that drive better patient care and smarter decision-making across the organization.
You'll be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines and reports that provide a clear view into key metrics, clinical outcomes, and business operations. This role offers the opportunity to work with modern data tools in the Azure cloud environment and contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL workflows using Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and other tools.
Develop, optimize, and support impactful dashboards and reports in Power BI (and Excel, when needed) that help drive decision-making across the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and ensure alignment.
Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing reports and data processes to ensure accuracy, performance, and relevance.
Support data quality initiatives, validation, and metadata documentation in collaboration with the Data Architect.
Provide ad hoc analyses and reports to leadership and other stakeholders.
Interpret and apply standardized development methodologies and coding best practices.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency based on data trends and insights.
Document business logic, data definitions, workflows, and architecture for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ensure data security and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skills
4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.
3+ years of hands-on experience with ETL processes, ideally in Azure Data Factory, SSMS, or equivalent.
Strong SQL development skills, including advanced queries, complex joins, indexing, and performance tuning.
Expertise with Power BI for building interactive dashboards, visual storytelling, and data modeling.
Deep understanding of data structures, quality assessment, metadata management, and best practices for data governance.
Experience with data warehousing, data pipelines, and workflow automation.
Prior experience in healthcare or working with Medicare/Medicaid data is highly preferred.
Experience working in Azure cloud environments and with SSIS or similar tools is a plus.
Familiarity with financial data modeling or analysis is a strong plus.
Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience working in value-based care or population health is a bonus.
