About the Role: We are seeking an SAP Basis Administrator for a contract position supporting the State of North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and other State Agencies. This role supports a hybrid cloud SAP HANA-based enterprise solution and will contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform, enabling NCDOT to deliver best-in-class financial management solutions to meet the growing needs of North Carolina. This is a remote position until all staff return to site—at that time, the candidate will transition to full-time onsite work. Candidates will need to use their own computer until working onsite, at which point NCDOT equipment will be provided. Max rate for this position: $120/hour. Essential Responsibilities: Manage, monitor, and optimize large-scale SAP HANA 2.0 environments. Configure and support SAP Basis interfaces including SDI/SDA, SLT, PI/PO, NetWeaver ICM, Gateway Services, OData, iDocs, RFCs. Connect SAP to external data sources (REST, SOAP, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Sybase). Perform SAP HANA monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Lead small teams and collaborate with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones. Apply SDLC/Agile/Scrum methodology in project execution. Provide technical leadership for integration, maintenance, and upgrades of SAP systems. Communicate effectively via telephone, email, and in person with stakeholders and team members. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience (3 years of progressive experience in lieu of each year of education). At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology. U.S. citizenship or U.S. work authorization (no sponsorship available). Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of SAP Basis experience, including HANA 2.0, SDI/SDA, SLT, PI/PO, NetWeaver ICM, Gateway Services, OData, iDocs, RFCs. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in native HANA. Experience connecting SAP to multiple external data sources. Previous experience leading small teams. Strong familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
