Role description
We are seeking a skilled SAP BI/BW Developer to design, enhance, and support data warehousing and analytics solutions within the DWR SAP environment. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in building scalable BI/BW data models, optimizing ETL processes, and enabling enterprise reporting capabilities that support informed decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain SAP BI/BW data models and objects, including InfoProviders, DSOs, MultiProviders, CompositeProviders, and InfoCubes, to meet enterprise reporting and analytics requirements.
Build and optimize ETL data flows using SAP BW Data Services, Process Chains, and Extractors across key SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, HCM, Payroll, and Procurement.
Develop and enhance SAP BEx Queries, Workbooks, Variables, Calculated and Restricted Key Figures, and custom reporting solutions to support business stakeholders.
Create and improve BW extractors (LO Cockpit, Generic Extractors, and Function Module–based Extractors) and integrate data from SAP ECC/S4 and non-SAP source systems.
Lead end-to-end data modeling efforts including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, validation, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
Monitor and troubleshoot BW systems by resolving performance bottlenecks, data load failures, Process Chain issues, and ensuring data quality and integrity across environments.
Collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts, SAP Functional Analysts, and ABAP Developers to maintain accurate data mapping and ensure consistency across integrated source systems.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design specifications, ETL mapping documents, data flow diagrams, unit testing results, and deployment guides.
Ensure all BI/BW solutions adhere to State of California compliance requirements, audit standards, data governance policies, and security controls.
Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, production deployments, and provide post-implementation stabilization and ongoing production support for SAP BI/BW environments.
