Job Title: SAP BW Consultant Data Migration to Google Cloud Platform BigQuery Location: Remote Employment Type: Contract Job Description: We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Consultant to lead a critical data migration from SAP BW to Google Cloud BigQuery. The consultant will be responsible for reverse-engineering existing SAP BW models, transformations, and routines, and translating them into optimized logic within Google Cloud Platform BigQuery. This is a fully remote, contract role with direct impact on enterprise cloud migration and reporting strategy. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze existing SAP BW data models (InfoCubes, DSOs, transformations, queries). • Reverse-engineer BW logic (routines, formulas, ABAP code) and document mappings. • Translate SAP BW structures and transformations into BigQuery SQL pipelines. • Collaborate with data engineers, cloud architects, and business stakeholders to validate migration. • Design ETL/ELT flows to move data from SAP and non-SAP systems into BigQuery. • Optimize BigQuery models for performance, scalability, and data integrity. • Troubleshoot and reconcile data during migration, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Provide knowledge transfer and documentation of BW-to-BigQuery logic. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Strong hands-on experience with SAP BW (data models, transformations, ABAP routines, reporting). • Proven experience in data migration or modernization projects. • Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform BigQuery (design, SQL, optimization). • Solid SQL skills for translating business logic into cloud-based pipelines. • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes (Data Services, Data Fusion, Informatica, or similar). • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have: • Broader experience with Google Cloud Platform tools (Dataflow, Dataproc, Data Fusion). • Exposure to Python, Spark, or cloud-native ETL frameworks. • Knowledge of SAP functional modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, etc.) for business context.
