Target Pay Rate: $75 an hour w2
Contract length: 6 months+
Our client is seeking a for a Data Engineer for contract position located in Springfield Ma or Boston Ma. This job is hybrid and requires 3 days a week on site. Tues and Wed are core days, and you choose either Monday or Thursday
All candidates are required to work on our W2 and are eligible for the benefits we offer which include medical/dental/vision/401k.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Senior Data Analyst to support a complex SAP R/3 to S/4HANA finance migration. This individual will play a key role in Enterprise Data Warehouse and Operational warehouse ensuring the Finance Data Mart and warehouse is accurate and business alignment through detailed EDW mapping, validation, and testing efforts across financial domains in EDW.
This is a hybrid/in-person role, requiring regular on-site collaboration with business partners, data engineering teams, BI developers, and SAP stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data analysis, finance, testing, and enterprise systems with a hands-on mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Lead the creation and maintenance of EDW data mapping documentation between EDW and the Finance system (SAP).
β’ Collaborate with business and functional leads to gather and clarify financial data transformation and reporting requirements.
β’ Support data profiling, cleansing, transformation, and validation activities.
β’ Assist in writing and executing test strategies, including unit testing, functional integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
β’ Work closely with the BI reporting team to validate data structures and support post-migration reporting needs.
β’ Partner with data engineers and solution architects to define and verify transformation rules.
β’ Log and track issues and support resolution during test cycles.
β’ Maintain appropriate testing and validation documentation.
β’ Contribute to SteerCo reporting by providing data readiness updates, issue status, and impact summaries.
β’ Work with Project Managers to maintain and support the RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
β’ Collaborate with offshore and onshore teams to align on requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
Skills: Required Qualifications:
β’ 6+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in finance or enterprise data systems.
β’ 2+ years working on SAP.
β’ Proficient in SQL and familiar with data validation and reconciliation techniques.
β’ Functional knowledge of SAP finance modules (GL, AP/AR, FA, CO).
β’ Experience with data mapping, data dictionaries, and transformation logic documentation.
β’ Hands-on experience writing and executing test plans including functional integration testing.
β’ Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work onsite with business stakeholders.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud.
β’ Preferred Qualifications:
β’ Familiarity with Finance Accounting Transformation and Finance data migration.
β’ Experience supporting financial reconciliation, audit readiness, or compliance-driven data initiatives.
β’ Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
β’ Comfortable working in hybrid project delivery environments with Agile or waterfall elements.
