As a Senior Scala Developer, you will:
The ideal candidate will have:
Scala Developer:
Designing, developing, and maintaining applications using Scala. Implementing applications according to specifications. Performing software analysis, testing, and debugging. Collaborating with other team members to ensure the application meets requirements. Optimizing applications for performance and scalability. Working with large datasets and integrating with big data technologies like Apache Spark and Hadoop. Designing and implementing APIs and microservices. Contributing to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Requirements:
β’ 2+ years professional experience developing solutions with Scala or other functional language
β’ Experience writing Unit Tests and Acceptance/Behavior Tests
β’ Ability to deliver quality code on timely basis
β’ Strong data structure, algorithm and problem-solving skills
β’ Experience and desire to work in an Agile environment (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)
β’ Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain at previous employments
β’ Experience working on a team, sharing code base with continuous integration
β’ Willing to participate in production support rota
β’ Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
β’ Message-oriented-middleware (Kafka, AMQP, MQ, AMPS, etc.) experience
β’ Distributed systems experience
β’ Web Application development (JavaScript, AngularJS, Bootstrap, etc.)
β’ REST API design and development
β’ DDD/CQRS/Event sourced systems experience
β’ Relevant industry (banking middle/back office) experience
β’ Experience in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc)
β’ Experience with automated deployment technologies (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Docker, etc.)
β’ Experience with 3rd party Scala libraries and frameworks (Scalactic, Scalatra, Akka, RxScala, TypeLevel libraries, etc.)
β’ Understanding of Category Theory
Database knowledge: Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases is generally required. Experience with version control systems: Proficiency in Git is a standard requirement. Familiarity with testing frameworks: Experience with ScalaTest or Specs2 is helpful for ensuring code quality. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: These are crucial for tackling complex technical challenges. Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Scala developers often work closely with cross-functional teams.
