Role description
The Security Data Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive cybersecurity awareness program. This position requires a skilled professional with a strong foundation in cybersecurity and a passion for educating employees on secure practices and protocols. Job Title: Security Data Specialist Location: Corporate Headquarters, Arlington, VA Work Model: Hybrid (On-site Monday–Thursday, Remote on Friday) Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Job Summary: The ideal candidate will create compelling training content, conduct interactive sessions, and assess training effectiveness, all while working collaboratively with IT and security teams to address organizational risks. Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement an enterprise-wide cybersecurity awareness and training program. • Develop educational content, including presentations, videos, and e-learning modules. • Deliver regular training sessions, webinars, and hands-on workshops across all employee levels. • Collaborate with IT and security teams to identify gaps and tailor training solutions accordingly. • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics. • Stay current on cybersecurity trends, threat landscapes, and industry best practices. • Ensure training programs are aligned with regulatory requirements and compliance standards. • Promote a proactive security culture throughout the organization. • Provide reports and insights to senior leadership on training progress and outcomes. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Education, or a related discipline. • 8+ years of experience in the analysis and definition of security requirements. • 5+ years of direct cybersecurity experience, specifically in training and awareness programs. • 5+ years of specialized experience with: • Defining security requirements for high-level applications. • Evaluating security product capabilities. • Developing solutions to Multi-Level Security (MLS) challenges. • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat mitigation, and secure practices. • Exceptional communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. • Proficiency with e-learning development tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
